Internships

serving Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle

You either traveled, worked, or stayed near home. You may have even gone on a mission trip with your church. I know what you can do next summer. Mission to North America has a variety of summer internship opportunities  in which you can make money for school while serving the Lord in some pretty cool places with some pretty great people.

I know what you did last summer

What are your plans for next summer? Have you considered serving at one of MNA’s missions destination locations in the United States? Since 2005 MNA has placed over 50 college students in a variety of summer projects.

“Nothing makes my time here this summer better than to see the hope and joy light up in the homeowners’ eyes as we introduce them to the various mission teams from all over the U.S. each week.  It is the most amazing and humbling experience, and I think it becomes more encouraging each time.  I am finally beginning to truly understand how God works in all of us; especially through our sufferings when we think we are all we have to lean on.  Hurricane Katrina was devastating, but in some ways it was a blessing as it has led to not only homes being rebuilt, but the rebuilding of people’s lives and hearts though God’s love.  At the end of each week, it’s a blessing for people to see that though the mission teams come and go, they take their stories back home and pray for them, all the while knowing that the church is here for them in the long haul.  This city is not forgotten, it never was to begin with; God has been sheltering it before things hit rock bottom. Slowly but surely, I believe people as a whole are coming to really understand God’s love, and that it’s a blessing to be able to lift our needs up to Him and lean on each other during these trying times...” ( To read more of Charles’ comments CLICK HERE)

and served as a 2009 summer intern with Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New Orleans

“Being completely engaged in a culture that had been left bare in its brokenness by natural disaster, left me with no other choice than to be exposed in my own brokenness.  My summer internship was deeply impactful, and left me with no alternative than to turn again and again to grace.  I came with a plan to serve thinking I had a basic understanding of the gospel; and left realizing that the gospel is greater, deeper, harder, and more encompassing than I had ever imagined."

Michael Phillips served at Lagniappe Presbyterian Church in Bay St. Louis, MS as a 2007 Summer intern and is currently serving as an RUF intern at The University of Tennessee.

"God is my gracious Father and I must not simply ask for his help when I need it--I must always rely on Him.  Being an intern at Lagniappe compelled me to put His provision to the test while working with volunteers, working with my fellow interns, and building houses.  God loves and provides for my every need--even when all I am is a rebellious child."

Ben Ratliff, served at Lagniappe Presbyterian Church in Bay St. Louis, MS as a 2007 Summer intern. Ben is currently pursuing an M.Div. degree at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson.
